George Brown Lemacks, 67, of Little Mountain, died January 24, 2022, at his residence.
Born on July 27, 1954, he was the son of the late George Brown, Sr. and Mildred Edel Spaulding Lemacks. He was a graduate of North Charleston High School and was a retired homebuilder, formerly owning Southern Structures of Chapin and Lemacks Construction Company of North Charleston. He was also a building supplies salesman, working throughout his career for Bagnal Building Supply in Columbia and Monarch Lumber in North Charleston. He was a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church in Little Mountain.
George was an avid and passionate sports fan who loved the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Atlanta Braves.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Shealy Lemacks; children, Kristen (Chris) Salisbury of Charleston; George III (Danielle), of Charleston; Mandy, of Johns Island, SC; Franklin "West" (Maise), of Harleyville, SC; and John David (Dominique), of Charleston; nine grandchildren, George IV (Valerie), Dustin, Ricki-Ann, Caroline Salisbury, Jackson, Annabeth Salisbury, Penn, Maren, and Braxton; a great-grandson, Fynn; two sisters, Jessie Hayden of Woodbine, GA, and Lynn (Matthew) Lyon, of Moorefield, WV; his mother-in-law, Patricia Jewell Shealy, of Prosperity; two sisters-in-law, Susan (Nate) Rish, of Little Mountain and Elizabeth Martin Carpenter of Wilmington, NC; and a number of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his father-in-law, Tommy Shealy, and a brother-in-law, Sammy Hayden.
Private services will be held for his immediate family at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church. Public graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, Febuary 12, 2022 at Newberry Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, 816 Mt. Tabor Road, Little Mountain, SC 29075.
