Gerald Amick

Harvey Gerald Amick, 82, of Newberry, died Sunday, March 1, 2020 at White Oak Manor.

Born on June 27, 1937 in Newberry, he was the son of the late Jack and Doris Rauch Amick. He was retired after 38 ½ years from Torrington of Clinton. Mr. Amick served in the S.C. National Guard and was a member of Epting Memorial United Methodist Church and the Men's Bible Class.

He is survived by his wife of 53 ¾ years, Nadine Counts Amick; sons, Kirby Nils Amick of Athens, GA and Johnny Amick (Leann Cockrell) of Prosperity and granddaughters, Ellison Cockrell and Miranda Amick.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. William Hightower and Rev. Amanda Richardson. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Epting Memorial United Methodist Church Bereavement Fund, 1401 Milligan Street, Newberry, SC 29108 or to the charity of one's choice.

Active pallbearers will be Mac Bartley, Tee Bartley, Joseph Taylor, Richard Attaway, David Gibson and Karman Bedenbaugh.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kathy's Breakfast Club and employees of White Oak Manor.
