Graham Lindley Brown, 49, of Newberry, husband of Tamitha “Tam” Koon Brown for 24 years, passed away March 8, 2026 after a long period of declining health.

A Columbia native, Graham was a son of Marshanna King Brown and the late Steven Brown. After high school at Richland Northeast, he attended the University of South Carolina where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Graham and his family were proud that he obtained a Gamecock diploma! He grew up at Shandon United Methodist Church in Columbia but after moving to Newberry he and Tam attended Epting Memorial United Methodist Church where Pastor William Hightower extended much love and care for them, even traveling to Charleston when Graham was hospitalized there.

His professional career centered around his passion for law enforcement. He was a police officer, Special Response Team Member, and fire fighter at Cayce Department of Public Safety. He also served as a Security Officer at Kraft Foods and held other jobs in the motorcycle industry.

In addition to his wife and mother, Graham is survived by brother, Michael Brown (Trez) of Columbia; mother-in-law, Sylvia Koon of the home; sister-in-law, Sandy Dominick (Craig) of Newberry; nieces and nephews, Elise, Clara, and Hugh Brown, Garrett Dominick, Pateon Radford and Jamie (Alanna) and Zan Borden; uncles, aunts, and cousins, all of whom loved Graham and his kind spirit. He was predeceased by grandparents, John Brown, Mary Adams Brown, David Allen King, Jr. and Sara King.

The family would like to thank Bonnie, Christie, and Holland of Amedisys Home Health of Newberry, along with Dr. Joseph Elmunzer of Atrium Health Charlotte, for their love and care.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Shandon United Methodist. Columbia, at 2:00 with a reception immediately following at the church.

Memorials may be made to Oliver Gospel Mission, 1100 Taylor St., Columbia, SC 29201; Habitat for Humanity, 625 Taylor St., Columbia 29201; or to Mt. Bethel Global Methodist Church, P.O. Box 57, Newberry SC 29108.
