Grady Franklin Rikard, 88, of Newberry, widower of Patricia Ann “Tootsie” Willard Rikard, died Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at his residence.

Born on January 22, 1922, in Newberry, he was a son of the late Franklin Samuel and Alice Cornelia Wicker Rikard. He was a World War II Navy veteran and also a veteran of the Army. Mr. Rikard was the owner of the Pee Wees Party Shop. He was a member of Cannon’s Creek A.R.P. Church. He was a 58 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and was an electrician with local Union # 164 I.B.E.W. of Paramus, N.J. and also worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority.

Surviving are his daughters, Gloria Jean Crayne and Lizzie Ann (David) Brotherton both of Newberry; sisters, Dorothy Haltiwanger of West Columbia and Sara Sutton of Columbia; a granddaughter, Amanda Bethany Crayne. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Bobby Crayne, sisters, Ola Mae Wentworth and Roechelle Rikard, brothers, Earl Rikard, W.B. Rikard, Ralph Rikard, Roland Rikard and Murray Rikard.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2010, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home by the Rev. Gary Pierstorff. Burial with military honors will follow in Cannon’s Creek Prosperity ARP Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
