Harold "Woody" Berley

Harold Woodrow “Woody” Berley, 70, of Pomaria, died at his residence.

Born on July 14, 1952, in Newberry, he was a son of Ruby Counts Berley Deaton and the late Billy A. Berley.  Mr. Berley had worked for Associated Rock Blasting and Warren Insulating Company.  He was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir and was active in the Lutheran Men in Mission.

He is survived by his mother, Ruby B. Deaton of Prosperity; sons, Allen (Kristy) Berley of Pomaria and Will (Shannon) Berley of Prosperity; a step-son, Kevin (Taryl) Bundrick of Newberry; sisters, Karen Bowers of Prosperity and Roxanne (Keith) Kibler of Statesboro, GA; six grandchildren, Lexi (J.P.) Duncan, Alleigh Berley, Kameron Berley, Allex Berley, Cole Berley and Owen Berley and girlfriend, Sherri Wicker. He was predeceased by a son, Chavis Berley and a brother, Ronnie Berley.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, December 16, 2022, at Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church by the Rev. Bobby Morris.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the service at the church.  Memorials may be made to Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 2336 Mt. Pilgrim Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.
