Harold Lee Dominick, 86, died Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Springfield Place in Newberry.

Born on June 29, 1939, in Prosperity, he was a son of the late Otis L. Dominick and Marie F. Wofford. He was a 1957 graduate of Newberry High School, and retired after 38 years of service with the SC Army National Guard, achieving the rank of Sergeant Major. He began his career in automobile sales. SGM Dominick was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, where he served on Church Council. He enjoyed cheering on the USC Gamecocks during his retirement, traveling to numerous away football games, bowl games, and four College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. He also loved admiring the view from his property on the Saluda River.

He is survived by sons, Craig H. (Sandy) Dominick of Newberry and Marc E. Dominick of Greenville; a brother, Earl L. Dominick of Newberry; grandsons, Jamie (Alanna) Borden and Garrett Dominick; two step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joye L. Johnson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Long Dominick, and brother Robert F. Dominick.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Newberry Memorial Gardens, led by Rev. John Stoudemayer. The family will receive friends after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, 2704 Nance Street, Newberry, SC 29108 or Lutheran Hospice, 102 Fortress Drive, Chapin, SC 29036.
