Helen Shealy Wise, 78, of Newberry, died Friday, January 9, 2026 at National Health Care in Clinton.

Born on December 17, 1947 in Chapin, she was a daughter of the late H.C. Shealy and Rosaline Amick Shealy Ringer. Helen was a medical transcriptionist and retired from Newberry County Memorial Hospital after 32 years of service. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. Helen loved to sit on her front porch and watch the trains as they passed by. She liked watching crime shows and the Hallmark channel. She loved taking trips to the beach with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Carroll Harvey Wise; a daughter, Julie (Heath) Branham; sons, Jacob Harvey (Amanda) Wise of West Columbia and Timothy (Melissa) Wise of Clinton; grandchildren, Drew Branham, Libby (Caleb) Branham, Sydney Branham, Jillian Wise, and Mason Wise. She was predeceased by sisters, Carolyn Marsh, Ellie Jane Wise, and Sylvia Ruff.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm Sunday, January 11, 2026 at St. James Lutheran Church by the Rev. Rodney Gunter. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, 228 Jalapa Road, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pall bearers will be Michael Wise, Garrick Wise, Zachary Wise, Don Benepe, Bryan Smith, Brian Lesh, and Tarry Long.
