Henry Cook

Henry Eugene Cook, 90, of Laurens, widower of Margery Cook, died Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born on February 23, 1926, in Prosperity, he was a son of the late Sidney and Pauline Cook. Mr. Cook was a decorated Army veteran who was a POW and received the Bronze Star for Valor. He was retired from the S.C. Port Authority and was a member of Wightman United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a son, Warren E. Cook; a sister, Nannie Lou Kibler; niece, Sandra Brown, special friends, Charlene Bentley-Boyd and her sons, Bryan and Brad Bentley.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Jimmy Counts.
