Ira Bedenbaugh

Ira Bedenbaugh, 93, of Prosperity, died Sunday, November 1, 2009, at White Oak Manor.

Born on April 18, 1916, in Prosperity, he was a son of the late George Pettus and Susanna Nichols Bedenbaugh. Mr. Bedenbaugh worked for W.C. Barnes Grocery and Essie Singley Liquor Store and was a farmer. He was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

Surviving is his wife, Mamie L. Bedenbaugh; a daughter, June Bedenbaugh Minick (Tommy) Stevenson of Columbia; grandchildren, Marla (Gary) Hutto, Austin (Charlotte) Minick and Dean Minick; great-grandchildren, Nathasha (Arthur) Neroshchin, Angel Minick Smith and Kristen McDowell and three great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a grandson, Tony Russell Minick and his sibings, Hallman Dennis, Tranquilla Riser, Chesley Bedenbaugh, Charlie Bedenbaugh, Daisy Smith, Jennie Miller, Birge Bedenbaugh, Horace Bedenbaugh, Jones Bedenbaugh, Maybank Bedenbaugh, Hettie Bedenbaugh, Lucy Amick and Ruby Fulmer

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Jason Schafer. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 4056 St. Luke’s Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.
