Jacob D. Epting

Jacob D. “Jake” Epting, Jr., 85 of Kinards, widower of Sylvia Onealia Bundrick, died Sunday, May 11, 2025 at his residence.

Born on August 15, 1939 in Chappells, he was the son of the late Jacob Dewey and Helen Harmon Epting. Mr. Epting retired from Champion International and served in the South Carolina National Guard. He was a member of Little River-Dominick Presbyterian Church. Mr. Epting enjoyed fishing trips with his friends to Santee and having his annual July 4th BBQ. He loved helping people and would often work on tractors and other equipment for his neighbors.

He is survived by sons, Jacob Dewey (Michelle) Epting, III of Newberry, Rodney O'Neal (Carrie) Epting of Kinards, and Timothy James (Sarah) Epting of Pomaria; a daughter, Kimberly Tina Lilly Epting of Kinards; and 7 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00PM Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Little River-Dominick Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Paul Kerr and the Rev. Meg Marley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
