James Goodman

James Wyman Goodman, Sr., 67, of Whitmire, died Friday, August 23, 2013, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on August 14, 1946, in Laurens, he was a son of the late John Franklin Goodman, Sr. and Dorothy Oberia Rowe Goodman. He was a retired carpenter.

Mr. Goodman is survived by his wife, Vonetta Ayers Goodman; sons, James Goodman, Jr. and Ronald Sharpe; daughters, Dorothy Gale Goodman, Melissa West, Sharon Sharpe and Cheryl Owen; sisters, Alice Goodman and Trudy Goodman; brothers, Michael Goodman, Terry Goodman, Carl Goodman, Richard Goodman and David Goodman; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Mr. Goodman was predeceased by a brothers, Reed Allen Goodman and John F. Goodman, Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Freedom Baptist Church by the Rev. Eddie Bledsoe.
