James Hill

James Arthur Hill, 90, of Newberry, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025, at his home.

Born on July 7, 1934, in Little Mountain, he was a son of the late Arthur and Mary Wyse Hill. He was retired from American Fiber and Finishing and was a member of the Newberry Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. He loved working in his yard tending to flowers and each year cultivating a vegetable garden.

Mr. Hill is survived by his wife of 66 years, Faye Werts Hill; a son, James A. “Jimmy” Hill, Jr. (Wanda) of Little Mountain; a sister, Peggy Counts (Voight) of Little Mountain; a brother, Wyse Hill (Kathy) of Pomaria; two granddaughters, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Mr. Hill was predeceased by a sister, Spruce Sendeen and brothers, Albert Hill and David Hill.

Graveside services will be held at 5:00 pm Monday, June 16, 2025, at Rosemont Cemetery by the Rev. Seth Yi. The family will greet friends following the service at the graveside.
