IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James "Jamie"
Amick
June 2, 1968 – December 31, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of James Carroll Amick Jr. (Jamie), of Chapin, who went home on December 31, 2025.
Jamie was the strongest man we have ever known, not only in physical strength but in heart, character, and love. He loved with his whole being and would do anything he could for anyone. He truly never met a stranger, because everyone he encountered was worthy of kindness and respect.
Above all else, Jamie loved his family. His love for his wife, Charlotte, was deep, steadfast, and unmatched. Their bond was built on devotion, loyalty, and years of shared life and love. He was a proud father to Dalton, Jesse, and Gracie, always doing everything in his power to protect, support, and provide for his children.
His greatest joy was being Papa to his grandchildren, Gracelynn (Bug), Kollynns Squiggly) and Bexleigh (Tadpole), who were the light of his life. He cherished every moment with them, and his love for them was evident in everything he did.
Jamie showed his love through action by showing up, by helping without hesitation, and by putting others before himself. His strength, generosity, and big heart left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
He loved to cook on his barbecue pit, and when he did, everyone was welcome. Neighbors, friends, and family all knew that if the pit was going, there was a place for them and there would be whole boston butts, racks of ribs, shoulders or chickens to share, and plenty to go around. What he really shared was his heart, and everyone who came left feeling loved.
He was a 1986 graduate of Chapin High School and later played football at the University of South Carolina, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He was a self employed business owner of Amick Rack. Through his work, Jamie traveled across the country installing industrial racking, conveyors, mezzanines, modular offices, and truly so much more. He was highly skilled, deeply respected, and truly one of a kind. His reputation and integrity made him someone others consistently sought out and trusted.
He is survived by Charlotte (Wife), Son Dalton (Chantel), Daughters Jesse, and Gracie(Cody), Granddaughters Gracelynn (Bug), Kollynns (Squiggly) and Bexleigh (Tadpole), Mother Helen Amick, Sister Pam (Lewis McMullen) and Nephew Nick. Along with his wife’s extended family, who were truly family to him, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members on both sides who loved him dearly, and many cherished friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Carroll Amick Sr. (JC), and many cherished loved ones.
Though our hearts are broken, we are forever grateful for the time we had with him. His legacy of love will live on through his family and all those whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Service arrangements will be announced at a later date.
