James Murray

James Franklin Murray, Jr. 75, of Newberry, widower of Joyce Lever Bedenbaugh Murray, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on November 23, 1948, in Greenville, he was the son of the late James Franklin Murray, Sr. and Betty Murray. He retired from Cryovac in Simpsonville. Mr. Murray was of the Baptist faith. He loved watching Clemson football, cowboy movies and his dogs. He was a good man who was loved by many.

He is survived by daughters, Judy (Gary) Seibert of Prosperity and Carla (Mike) Ammons of Newberry; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Newberry Memorial Gardens with services conducted by the Rev. Dr. Timothy Erskine. The family will receive friends following the service.

Memorials may be made to the Newberry Animal Shelter, 240 Public Works Road, Newberry, SC 29108.

The family would like to thank the staff of White Oak Manor especially Jamarcus and Crystal for being special CNA's to him and to his great-granddaughter, Katie Beck for her attention to him and a heartfelt thanks and love to a special sister-in-law, Brenda Hubbard.
