James Szabel

James R. Szabel, 69, of Prosperity, died Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at his residence.

Born on October 23,1947, in Chicago, IL, he was a son of the late Raymond and Virginia Cywinski Szabel, He was a Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and retired from John Hancock Insurance. Mr. Szabel was of the Catholic faith.

He is survived by his wife of almost 49 years, Pamela M. Judd Szabel; a son, Matthew (Shelley) Szabel of Orlando, FL; a daughter, Dawn (David) Kazanjian of Cary, NC; a brother, John Szabel of Spring Hill, FL and grandchildren, Zak Kazanjian, Avery Szabel, Jacob Szabel and Gavin Szabel.

A private interment will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
