James Aubrey Hatcher, 63, of Prosperity, died Friday, August 20, 2021, at his residence.

Born on November 5, 1957, in Trenton, he was a son of the late Marvin and Shelby Jean Hatcher Ready. He worked for 45 years at Georgia Pacific where he was the knife grinder. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Hatcher is survived by his daughter, Katie Bickley of Newberry; sisters, Virginia Cox, Louise Grooms, and Shirley Ann Hatcher Moore, all of Newberry; brothers, Bo Ready of Kansas, Ray Hatcher of Newberry, Robert Ready, Brian Ready, Marvin Ready and Ben Ready; grandchildren, Madison Bickley and Allen Bickley and his canine companion and best friend, Lucky. He was predeceased by grandson, Wade Chamblee and his son-in-law, Chad Bickley.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM, Friday August 27 th , at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Reverend Eddie Bledsoe. The family will be receiving friends following the service.
