Janice King Quattlebaum, 86, of Newberry, widow of James Oscar Quattlebaum,died on August 7, 2026 at White Oak Manor.

Born on December 26, 1939 in Bennettsville, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Joel W. and Edna Smith King. She received an associates degree from Wingate College and a bachelors degree from Newberry College. She taught elementary school for a few years in Gastonia and worked as a social worker when she was living in Aiken. She was the owner of Jacque's Country Outlet. Janice was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. She enjoyed shopping for antiques and loved singing. Janice was a certified lifeguard and taught swimming lessons to children and adults for many years. She participated in the lady's circle groups at Smyrna Presbyterian Church and at St..Matthew Lutheran Church. Janice enjoyed going to the senior adult luncheons at the Firehouse Conference Center. Spending time with her family brought her the greatest joy.

She is survived by a daughter, Jacquelyn Quattlebaum Graham and her husband Dennis; a grandson, James Graham and his fiancée, Mary-Kaitlin Lominick; a brother, Joel King and his wife Ann; and a sister-in-law, Linda King; and nieces, Kimberly King Smith and her husband Michael and Jacinta Richey and her husband, Chad; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews

She was predeceased by a brother, Jack Edward King and by a nephew, Eddie King.

The family would like to thank Agape Hospice, especially RN Shasta Freeman and CNA Shanae Coates. They would also like to thank White Oak Manor, especially the Unit 2 nurses and CNA's for their exceptional care.
