Lula Jean Nix Rollins, 89, of Newberry, widow of SSGT Bobby F. Rollins, United States Air Force, Retired, died July 30, 2025 at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.
Born on January 29, 1936 in Lake Charles, LA, she was a daughter of the late J.A. and Lola Sims Nix. Mrs. Rollins was a member of Epting Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Erin Wood Sunday School Class and served as a former leader of the UMYF for many years. She enjoyed going on several trips with the Epteens.
She is survived by a son, Charles (Nicole) Rollins of Clinton; daughters, Terri (Steve) Kemmerlin of Varnville and Pamela (Wade) Cooke of Lexington; a sister, Dale Nicholson of Kosciusko, MS; a brother, Jerry Nix of Elkins, AR; a sister-in-law, Louise Rollins of Newberry; grandchildren, Jessica (Zach) Bolter, Austin (Kirsten) Ginn, Cassie Kemmerlin, Madison (Josh) Smith, and Blake Cooke; great-grandchildren, Charleigh, Lennon, and Riggs Bolter; Whaley, Rikard, and Preston Ginn; and Paisley Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Theresa L. Rollins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00PM Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. William Hightower. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the chapel.
