Jennie Oates O'shields

Jennie Oates O'Shields, 45, of Prosperity, died Wednesday, May 26, 2021.

Born on November 11, 1975 in Newberry, she was a daughter of Jeanette Lominick Boozer and the late Jessie Havis Oates. She earned a Bachelor's Degree from Newberry College and served as City Clerk for the City of Newberry. She was a member of Cross Point Church. Her baby boy, Jesse Allen O'Shields was her greatest accomplishment.

She is survived by her husband, Ben O'shields; her mother and step-father, Jeanette and Dusty Boozer; sons, Jessie Allen O'Shields and Barron Reid O'Shields; brothers, Gene Hopper and Mickey James; sisters, Diane Bishop, Amy Hopper, Debbie Tucker, and Renee Franklin; her step-mother, Joyce Oates; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Allen and Brenda O'shields.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 29, 2021 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jeff O'Dell and by the Rev. Jimmy Counts.
