James Osborne Haltiwanger, 88, of Silverstreet, widower of Beth Dorroh Haltiwanger, died Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at National Health Care in Clinton.
Born on July 7, 1934, in Little Mountain, he was a son of the late George L. and Mildred Kinard Haltiwanger. He served in the S.C. National Guard and was an owner of Haltiwanger and Long Building Contractors and was a farmer. Mr. Haltiwanger was a member of Smyrna Presbyterian Church. He was a former member of the Silverstreet Ruritan and Silverstreet Young Farmer's.
He is survived by a son, David (Tatia) Haltiwanger of Silverstreet; a daughter, Kay (Jimmy) Mayes of Blythewood; grandchildren, Casey Haltiwanger, Paige (Daniel) McPhail, Aaron (Erin) Mayes, Ethan (Emily) Mayes and Abigail Mayes and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Haltiwanger was predeceased by his siblings, Lib Hamm, Dot Hamby, Mackey Satterfield, Ed Haltiwanger, Henry Haltiwanger, Mickey Haltiwanger and Kenny Haltiwanger.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, October 21, 2022, at Smyrna Presbyterian Church Cemetery by the Rev. Daniel Ratchford. The family will receive friend following the service at the graveside. Memorials may be made to a Ride to Remember, c/o Alzheimer's Association, Attn: RTR 20, 901 S.
