Jo Ellen Turner

Jo Ellen Worthy Turner, 74, of Newberry, died Friday, December 24, 2021, at Prisma Health Richland.

She was born on June 24, 1947, in Newberry, a daughter of the late Earl B. and Ethel Arrowood Worthy. She had worked in textiles and later at Wal Mart. She was a member of Queen's Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Ms. Turner is survived by sons, Robert Dale Turner and David Heath “Weisel” Turner both of Newberry; sisters, Doreen Worthy Willingham and Joyce Worthy Brown both of Newberry and Judy Willard Corley of Whitmire; grandchildren, Karlie Turner, Alanah Turner and Robert Dale “Robbie” Turner II; niece and nephews, Michael Brandon, Dendy Willingham, Jr., William Earl “Bubba” Willingham, Pam Worthy Brown, William Brown, Britt Worthy, Jr., Sammy Willingham and B.J. Brown. She was predeceased by a sister, Lynnette A. Worthy and a brother, E. Britton Worthy.

Services will be conducted at 11:00AM, Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Queens Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Eddie Bledsoe. The family invites those attending to bring a covered dish  for fellowship after the service.The family suggests that memorials be made to McSwain-Evans Funeral Home, 1724 Main Street, Newberry, SC 29108 to help defray funeral cost.
