Emily Joan Moss, 81, of Prosperity, died Friday, September 18, 2026, at Prisma Health Richland.

Born on February 3, 1945, in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late J.D. and Thelma Bates Cotney. She retired from McKechnie Vehicle Components and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Joan is survived by her husband, Donald Moss; sons, David Moss of Prosperity and Dale (Cindy) Moss of Lexington; a sister, Patricia McDonald of Prosperity; a brother, Rev. Waco Cotney of Prosperity; seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Jennie Beaudoin.
