Joan Bobb Shealy, 93, of Newberry, widow of Clarence A. Shealy, Jr., passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the Saluda Nursing Center.

Born on July 20, 1932, in Newberry, she was the daughter of the late Aumerl Samuel and Sallie Mack Bobb. Mrs. Shealy was a graduate of Newberry College and worked for over 40 years in the banking industry in Newberry. She began her working career with Newberry County Bank and then worked as the banks merged over the years with Bankers Trust, NCNB, Nations Bank and retired as a branch manager with Bank of America.

She grew up in the West End Community of Newberry where she was reared in West End Baptist Church. She played the piano and organ while at West End. She later was a member of Epting Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a faithful choir member and played the piano and organ when needed. At Epting she was a member of the Mary Addison Circle.

Mrs. Shealy was also a member of the Colonial Dames and the Daughter’s of the Confederacy.

She is survived by a son, C.A. (Tracie) Shealy III of Prosperity; a daughter, Sue Ellen Shealy of Newberry; granddaughters, Katherine Shealy (Joey Levine) of San Mateo, CA and Jennifer Shealy (Dr. Seth Cline) of Charlotte, NC. She was predeceased by a brother, Lewis Bobb.
