Joe Ruff

Joe Franklin Ruff, 55, of Saluda, died Thursday, January 7, 2010, at his residence.

Born on February 3, 1954, in Newberry, he was a son of Toni Davis Ruff and the late Joe Bates Ruff. Mr. Ruff was a plumber and a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church.

Surviving in addition to his mother of Pomaria is his wife, Norma Wertz Ruff; a son, Joseph (Sarah) Ruff of Newberry and a daughter, Meagen (Nick) Waites of Pomaria; step-sons, Doug Jones of Saluda, Ryan Jones of Greer and Christian Jones of Columbia; sisters, Kathy R (Jack) Wilson and Karen R. Bickley both of Pomaria; grandsons, Daniel Jones and Zachary Jones.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2010, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church by the Rev. Kathy Harris and Rev. Steve Jackson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. The family will be at his residence , 333 Hunters Lane, Saluda.
