John C. "J.C." Eleazer

John Calhoun “J.C.” Eleazer, 85, of Newberry, died Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.

Born on June 19, 1936, in Richland County, he was the son of the late Wendell C. and Alma Louise Stoudemire Eleazer. He worked for Tapp's Department Store and was a member of Caper's Chapel United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a brother-in-law, James Clamp; nephews, Alan Clamp and Paul Clamp and a niece, Linda Clamp. Mr. Eleazer was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn Clamp.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Caper's Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jesse Rogers. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to Caper's Chapel United Methodist Church, 331 Holloway Street, Pomaria, SC 29126.
