Joseph Bernier

Joseph A. Bernier, 79, of Newberry, widow of Marian Harrison Bernier, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at his residence.

Born on May 29, 1937, in Pittsford, VT, he was a son of the late Joseph a. Bernier, Sr. and Leona Trombley Bernier. He was retired from the U.S. Army having served in the Vietnam War.

He is survived by a step-daughter, Lonita Schmidt of Newberry; a sister, Dorothy Wyatt of Fayetteville, NC; a brother, Stephen Bernier of Rutland, VT and a grandchild, Chauncey Schmidt. He was predeceased by brothers, Richard and Philip Bernier.

Mr. Bernier is being cremated.
