Joyce Sharrow

d. February 14, 2018

Joyce Elaine Morpeth Sharrow, age 87, died on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 surrounded by her family in Leesville, SC.

Even though her residence changed in the past 2 years her heart has always been on a mountainside in Richford, Vermont. In a home that was built by her husband Jeb of 65 years, her son “Jerry boy”, and other extended family.

Joyce was born February 7, 1931 in Burlington, VT to the late Embelton Stewart Morpeth and Mabel Densmore Morpeth O'Brien. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeb, grandson, Andrew “Andy” Sharrow and sisters, Ethel Pelliccia, Arlene Perrone, Jennie Fish and Junnie Granahan.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Jerry (Joan) Sharrow, Kevin Sharrow and Joseph Lawlor; a daughter, Maureen (Harriet) Boozer-Bates. Her sister, Johanna McKenna; grandsons, John (Diana) Bates, Shawn (Kayleigh) Bates and great-grand baby, Victoria Anabelle.

After marriage, Joyce and Jeb built a business in Colchester Vermont called Colonial Cottages. There motto was “for the REST of your life.” In those early years Joyce worked at IBM and Digital. Joyce loved being outside enjoying yard work, ice fishing, feeding and watching bird, bingo, gambling and raking leaves. She volunteered at the local food pantry and at the church thrift store. She never slowed down, if there was a problem, working in the yard would solve it!

We want to thank Hospice of SC and Sheppard's Helping Hands for all of their support.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, February 16, 2018, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jason Shafer. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Interment will be at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery in Vermont. In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 4056 St. Luke's Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127 or to Hospice & Palliative Care Foundation, PO Box 151 Drayton, SC 29333.
