Joye Long Johnson, 90, of Newberry, widow of Lyman Earl Johnson, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026, at White Oak Manor.

Born in Newberry on March 31, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Edward Noland and Frances Shealy Long. Joye was a Newberry College graduate and pursued a career in bookkeeping and retired after 63 years from John Deere – Blanchard Equipment.

She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Joye is survived by sons, Keith (Wanda) Johnson of Newberry and Stanley (Margie) Johnson of Winnsboro; grandchildren, Erin Johnson and Todd (Emily); step-grandson, Johnny (Leigh Anne) Wicker; a step-great-granddaughter, Haley Wicker and a chosen grandson, Jarrod Lennon and beloved nephews, Craig (Sandy) Dominick and Marc Dominick.

She was predeceased by her sister, Betty Jean Long Dominick.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Bethany Lutheran Church by the Rev. John Stoudemayer. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Make a Wish Foundation, 225 South Pleasantburg Drive, Suite C17, Greenville, SC 29607.

Active pallbearers will be Craig Dominick, Marc Dominick, Garrett Dominick, Todd Johnson, Robert Icard and Johnny Clowney.
