June Reid Moore

June Reid Moore, 69, of Newberry, entered into eternal glory on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at her home.

June was born on June 1, 1953, in Greenwood to the late Sam Allen and Mildred Davenport Reid. She was raised in Ware Shoals, SC, where she attended Harmony United Methodist Church. After high school June attended Charzanne Beauty College in Greenwood.

June married Daniel Travis Moore on May 8, 1976 and made her home in Newberry. She was a hair dresser at Ms. Pete's for many years and also worked at Newberry Academy as a teacher assistant and the “lunch lady.” She was an active member of Smyrna Presbyterian Church. June loved God and her family. She never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone.

June is predeceased by her parents, Sam Allen and Mildred Davenport Reid, a sister, Sandra Reid Gillion and a brother, Gerald Reid.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel Travis Moore, a daughter, Danielle (Eric) De La Torre; a son, Matthew (Jessica) Moore and grandsons, Cooper and Issac.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Smyrna Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 3:00 pm by the Rev. Dan Ratchford.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Smyrna Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 32 Smyrna Road, Newberry, SC 29108.
