Kathy Havird

d. March 30, 2020

Ms. Kathy C. Havird of Little Mountain was born on March 28, 1957 in Prosperity, SC. She went to her eternal home on March 29, 2020. She was the daughter of the late James Wells and Rachel Shealy Counts.

Kathy was a member of Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church in Peak, SC. She was a long-time choir director and organist and served at Mt. Hermon Lutheran (Peak, SC), Mt. Olivet Lutheran (Chapin, SC), St. Jacob's Lutheran (Chapin, SC), and St. Peter's Lutheran (Chapin, SC). Her life-long passion for music touched so many people's lives at all of the churches she served. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, cooking and painting. She was extremely firm in her faith and used her musical talent to the Glory of God.

She is survived by two sons, Matthew Havird and Michael Havird; a granddaughter and a grandson; two brothers, James O'Neil Counts (Jean) of Newberry, SC and Carroll Mark Counts (Nancy) of Little Mountain, SC; two sisters, Lisa Counts Comalander (Greg) of Chapin, SC, and Julie Counts Lindler (Rodney) of Little Mountain, SC. She is survived by numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. She was predeceased by a sister, Brenda Counts Stucks.

A private graveside for the immediate family will be held at Peak Cemetery. As we all deal with the events of the present day, the family greatly appreciates all of the love and support and most importantly the prayers that are being sent there way. To allow all of her family and friends to share in the life of Kathy a Celebration of Life Service will be planned as soon as possible when guidelines for restricted group gathers have been lifted.
