Kenneth Griffin

Kenneth Royal Griffin, Jr., 62, of Pomaria, died August 12, 2010 at his residence.

Born in Pomaria on July 1, 1948, he was a son of Lillie Woodward Harmon and the late Kenneth Royal Griffin, Sr. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church .He was an explosives expert and was a United States Marine Corps 2 ^nd Force Recon Company veteran of the Vietnam War. To honor the Marine Corps, he flew the Marine Corps flag at his home.

He is survived by, in addition to his mother of Newberry, by his wife of 45 years, Ada Patrick Griffin; daughters, Deena Ann Griffin of Charleston, Beverly Lawana Griffin and her husband Michael Shealy of Newberry, and Victoria Brooke Griffin of Pomaria; brothers, James Michael Griffin of Columbia and Harry Henry Griffin of Pomaria and a granddaughter,Lillie Breck Griffin. He was predeceased by a brother, David Wade Griffin and a grandson, Chavis Barrenger Berley.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church by the Rev. Kathy Harris. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
