Kenneth Harmon

Kenneth Able Harmon, 67, of Newberry, died Sunday, May 17, 2015, at his residence.

Born on November 5, 1947, in Newberry, he was a son of the late Rufus Colie and Bessie Turner Harmon. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Pioneer Baptist Church.

Mr. Harmon is survived by his wife, Kay Morris Harmon; sons, Matthew (Melanie) Harmon of Charleston and Daniel Harmon of Elizabethtown, KY; a daughter, Heather (Thor) Harmon Colberg of Charlotte, NC; a sister, Brenda Posey of Lexington and seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Paul Harmon and Ben Harmon.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at Glenn Street Baptist Church by the Rev. Bill McDonald and Rev. Michael Whitesides. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Morris, 2033 Dean Street, Newberry. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
