Linda Carole Turner

Linda Carole Turner , 80, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at her daughter's home in
Greensboro NC.

Born on August 4, 1942 in Newberry, SC she was the daughter of the late Esther Long
and George Turner, she was also the beloved step daughter to the late Elbert Long.

In 1963 she married the love of her life Thomas R. Turner and they spent years traveling with the
Army until he retired in Fayetteville, NC. Linda worked at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church where she
taught and cared for young children until she retired after the death of her husband. Linda’s smile
could light up a room and her gentle presence brought so much happiness to everyone she was
around. She was active in the Church, her Ladies Bible Study Group, and a huge animal lover and
advocate. She was the best mother and mother-in-law in the world. There are no words to describe
how great she was at that.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Carole “ Jean” Turner-Amick ( Michael) of Greensboro, NC , her
beloved dog Koko of Greensboro NC, Beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law from the
Newberry area, and many many close friends she leaves behind in Fayetteville NC

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, March 30, 2023, in the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Robert Peltz. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 11:45 am at the funeral home.
