Effie Ludelle “Lou” Black Oxner, 85, of Whitmire, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born on November 7, 1939, in Saluda, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Ida Mae Lake Black. Lou retired from Henry Summer & Company and was a member of Zion United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her beloved husband, George Malcolm Oxner; a son, Randy Oxner (Michelle); grandchildren, Miranda Oxner Amick, (Jake), Austin Oxner, Christopher Oxner, and Candace Oxner; great-grandchildren, Evelyn Oxner, Charley Amick and Kase Amick.

Lou was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Todd Oxner and four loving brothers, Eldred Black, Bernard Black, Arvid Black and Verley Black.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, October 3, 2025, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home by the Rev. Joseph James.

The family will receive friends following the service.
