Luke Andrew Williams, 19, of Prosperity, SC, died on Friday, June 11 ,2021.

Luke was the beloved son of James “Blair” and Mary Roach Williams, born on March 7, 2002 in Newberry, SC.  With his legendary bright red hair, his family knew right away he was going to make an impact in their hearts and lives.  Even as a small child, Luke was the funniest person in the room and would do anything to make you laugh. He was a “go big or go home” kind of guy who was loved by all who knew him and had a heart of pure gold.  Luke graduated high school in 2020 and was a member of the National Honor Society, the National Vocational Technical Honor Society, and the Beta Club and was a former member of the Newberry High School Band and the Boy Scouts of America. He had a passion for history, writing and recording his own music, and had a great love for animals. He was always an advocate for others and accepted everyone as they were, without judgment.

In addition to his parents, Luke is survived by his brother, David Allen Williams; his grandmother, Pat Roach Kelly; aunt, Amy Roach Novack; uncle and aunt, Jon and Missy Roach; uncle and aunt, Matt and Kristen Williams; cousins, Julia Roach, Hailey Roach, and Jonathan Williams.Luke is also survived by his loving girlfriend, Leann Hill, who had a very special place in his heart.

Luke was preceded in death by his grandparents, Larry and Emily Williams and uncle, Dennis Novack.

An informal celebration of Luke’s life and visitation with the family will be held at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Newberry, SC on Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm. For those who plan to attend please come as you are. If you have a funny story to share, the family would love for you to write it down and bring it with you, to be placed in a memorial album that they can keep. If you are comfortable sharing it with those gathered, you will be given the opportunity to do so.

Those desiring to make a memorial in Luke’s memory may do so by contributing to a music program of your choice or to your local Animal Shelter/Humane Society.
