Marshia Lynn Black, 61, of Pomaria, South Carolina, died Sunday, September 14, 2025 at her home.
Born in Newberry, South Carolina on November 18, 1963, she was a daughter of George H. Black and the late Gloria Ann Bledsoe Black. Lynn loved people – especially her family, grandchildren, and friends – and animals. She enjoyed flowers and gardening as well as shopping and decorating for all seasons and holidays. She was a former employee of Newberry Internal Medicine for over 19 years.
Besides her father and step-mother, George and Jodie Black, she is survived by her fiancé, Doug Graham; two daughters: Nicole “Nikki” Baker (Mitch) Williams of Newberry, and Amanda “Amy” Baker (Robert) Driggers of Richlands, North Carolina; a sister, Ann (Grady) Wicker of Newberry; a brother, Randy Black of Newberry; grandchildren, Brooklynn Benton, Peyton Benton, and Ryland Benton; canine companions, Trixie, Pee Wee, and Snoopy; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by a brother, Terry Dean Black.
Funeral services will be held at New Hope United Methodist Church on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 11:00 am by Pastor Jesse Rogers. Burial will follow in the Graham Cemetery. The family will receive friends graveside following the service.
Memorials may be made to the Pomaria Rescue Squad, PO Box 192, Pomaria, SC 29126.
Pallbearers will be Randy Black, J.R. Busby, Mason Graham, Matthew Graham, Gary Graham, and Nolan O’Neal.
