Lynn Shealy

Virginia Lynn Brooks Shealy, 78, of Newberry, died Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at her home.

Born on February 22, 1948, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Frank Calvin and Mildred Irene Derrick Brooks. She was a graduate of Newberry High School and worked for a few years for Joanna Mills and Monsanto in Greenwood. She was a homemaker for the majority of her life watching after her home and family. Lynn was a member for 53 years at First Baptist Church of Prosperity.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard W. Shealy; daughters, Talisa Lynn (Brent) Koon of Laurens, Pamela Dawn (Andre) Sloan of Greenville, NC and Rhonda Kay Shealy of Columbia; a sister, Claudia Wise of Newberry; a brother, Kenneth Brooks of Newberry; grandchildren, Austin Lawson, Phillip Lawson, Danielle Koon (Andrew) Cronic and Ryan Koon and great-grandchildren, David Cronic and Royce Cronic.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 9, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Prosperity by the Rev. Michael Walker. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Prosperity.
