Millard C. “M.C.” Yarbrough, Jr., 82, of Newberry, died Friday, June 25, 2021, at Springfield Place.

Born on January 9, 1939, in New York City, NY, he was a son of the late Millard C. Yarbrough, Sr. and Esther Cornick Yarbrough. Mr. Yarbrough was a graduate of the St. Andrew's Episcopal Boys School of Sewanee, TN and Auburn University. He served in the Air Force National Guard from 1961-1968 and was the retired owner of the Yarbrough Agency, Inc. He was member of Aveleigh Presbyterian Church and previously was a member of the St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Mr. Yarbrough was an active member of the Rotary E-Club of the Carolinas where he had served as President from 2018-2019. He was a Rotary Benefactor, PHS member and a Major Donor.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Wilson Yarbrough; children, Charlene B. (Richard) Amick of Chapin, Stephen Millard (Ann) Yarbrough of Atlanta, GA, and Paige Paine of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Adelaide Amick of West Palm Beach, FL, Logan Amick (Clemson University), Julia Catherine Yarbrough (UGA), Caroline Jane Yarbrough (Rhodes College), Catherine Joy Yarbrough (The Paideia School), Lauren Paine (Bo) Kamensky of Atlanta, GA, Robert Lawrence Paine (Florida International); a sisters-in-law, Martha Davenport (John) Wallace, Mary W. Brantley and Ruth S. Wilson; a brother-in-law, John W. (Ann) Smith; niece, Susan Yarbrough (Kevin) Ragsdale and nephew, William Porter Yarbrough, Jr. He was predeceased by a brother, William Porter Yarbrough.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, June 28, 2021, at Aveleigh Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Dr. Mitchell VanMetre, Rev. Brian Holt and the Rev. Dr. Timothy Erskine. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 – 2:30 pm at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rotary International c/o Franca Meloncelli, 118 W. Stableford Drive, Duncan, SC 29334, Aveleigh Presbyterian Church, 1211 Calhoun Street, Newberry, SC 29108 or St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 1605 Main Street, Newberry, SC 29108.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Arrington, Lee Boozer, Charles Dyer, Bill Ehney, Rhett Frazier, Lyn Dell Jackson and Jim Talbot.
