Mae H. Woodward

Sara Mae Hendrix Woodward, 78, of Newberry, widow of Ray H. Woodward, died Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the Agape Care Hospice House in Lexington.

Born on October 3, 1943, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late William Hassell and Fannie Mae Bouknight Hendrix. She was retired from Honeywell and was a member of Freedom Baptist Church where she had served as church treasurer

Mrs. Woodward is survived by a daughter, Michelle Boland of Newberry; grandchildren, Chesney Shealy, McKenna Shealy and Clayton Boland; a sister, Billie Lominick of Newberry and a brother, Frank Hendrix of Chappells. She was predeceased by a son, William Edward “Bill” Boland and siblings, Hassell Hendrix, Robert Hendrix, Henry Hendrix, Wilson Hendrix and and an infant sister.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home by the Rev. Eddie Bledsoe.
