Maedell Shealy

Sarah Maedell Shealy, 90, of Newberry died November 26, 2009 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on May 19, 1919, in Lexington County, she was a daughter of the late Horry Cromwell and Essie Enoree Price Shealy. She was a member of Mayer Memorial Lutheran Church and the W.E.L.C.A. Edith Fulmer Circle.

She is survived by daughters, Peggy Bogart of Newberry and Judy Shaver and husband Thomas of Newberry; grandchildren, Keith and Diane Bogart, Alvin and La Dona Shaver, Susan and Buddy Lester, and Cindy and Eddie Long; great-grandchildren, Marley and Corey Shaver and Codi Lester. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 29, 2009, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family is at her residence, 1416 Kate Street, and will receive friends Saturday from 5:30 until 7:00 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
