Margaret Helen Roton Bowers, 91, native of Newberry, widow of James Everett “Pete” Roton, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at her home in Greenwood.

Born on June 9, 1934, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late George Ira and Gertrude Craine Brock. Margeret had worked at Allied Signal, Old School Manufacturing and the A&P Grocery Store. She was a member of Enoree Baptist Church and the Newberry Roadrunners.

Margaret was a wonderful cook and her family and many friends always enjoyed sharing meals with her. Her interest included fishing and visiting the beach. Her greatest love was for her family and most importantly for her Lord and Savior.

She is survived by daughters, Lynn Roton Plyler of Greenwood and Kim Roton (Ken) Lyons of Lexington; sons, Ricky Roton of Newberry and Danny Roton of Greenwood; grandchildren, Brandy (Cory) Morrow, Jamey (Emily) Roton, Christopher Jody Yarbrough, Amanda (Ben) Dancy, Savanah Lyons (Patrick) McNair and Collin Roton, step-granddaughter, Jennifer (Willie) Spires, eighteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Margaret was predeceased by a granddaughter, Kalyn E. Lyons, sister, Lillian Leavell and brothers, Leroy Brock, Luther Brock, William “Dunn” Brock, Harold Brock, J.B. Brock and Ed Brock.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Newberry Memorial Gardens by Rev. Charlie Clinton.

Memorials may be given to Enoree Baptist Church, c/o Charlene Leitzsey, 14080 SC Highway 176, Newberry, SC 29108, Calvary Pentecostal Church, 967 Lindsay Circle, Newberry, SC 29108 or to the charity of ones choice.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of the Piedmont as well as Destiny Yarbrough for their loving care during her illness.
