Martha Eleanor “Marti” Nunn Burk, 90, of Newberry, widow of George Burk, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026.

Born on November 6, 1935, in Rock Hill, she a daughter of the late Thornwell Wesley and Marie Inez Garrison Nunn. She was a member of Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church where she was involved in the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Army Women's Auxiliary Corp. She had worked alongside her husband with Celebrate Recovery and AA. Mrs. Burk had a passion for rescuing animals. She was a member of the former Newberry Garden Club.

Mrs. Burk is survived by sons, Richard Burk, Michael Burk, Daniel Burk and John Burk; sisters, Eula and Betsy and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons, Edwin Burk and Kenneth Burk.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, January 26, 2026, at 10:00 am in the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jimmy Counts. Burial will be at 1:00 pm at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia.
