Mary Frances Stone

Mary Frances Platt Stone, 82, of Prosperity, died Monday, March 15, 2010, at her residence.

Born on November 20, 1927, in St. George, she was a daughter of the late Marshall L. and Sally Fickling Platt. She was a member of St. Philip’s Lutheran Church.

Surviving is her husband, David W. Stone; daughters, Deborah (Bernard) Herman and Robin (Jimmy) Richardson both of Prosperity; a brother, Carroll Platt of Alabama; a granddaughter, Taylor Richardson. Mrs. Stone was predeceased by a grandson, Hunter James Richardson and a brother, Marshall Platt, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2010, at St. Philip’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Terry Amick. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Tri-County, 13795 C.R. Koon Highway, Newberry, SC 29108.
