Rebecca Johnson Bundrick

Mary Rebecca Johnson Bundrick, 92, of Silverstreet, widow of Johnnie Haskell Bundrick, passed away on Friday, July 15,2022 at White Oak Manor.

Mrs. Bundrick was born in Newberry on October 25, 1929 to the late George Andrew Johnson and Eva Mae Pitts Johnson. She was a devoted and active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer for Trinity Silver and Gold, and later received the Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition to her church family, Mrs. Rebecca loved gardening, making yo-yo's, and baking her famous cookies.

She is survived by her children, Marie (Frank) Somers of Silverstreet and Freddy (Lois) Bundrick of Fountain Inn, her sisters, Alice Moore and Linda Rowe, both of Newberry, her brother, Olin Andrew Johnson of Newberry, her grandchildren, Devon Perry Kinard, Chris Bundrick, and Brad Bundrick, 4 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a number of step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Sara Nell Taylor, William “Billy” Johnson and George Herman Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Trinity United Methodist Church by the Reverend Doug Benton, with burial to follow in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Monday, July 18, 2022 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
