Mary Pat Richardson

Mary Pat Taylor Richardson, 85, of Prosperity, widow of John Linwood “Lindy” Richardson, died Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at National Health Care of Lexington.

She was born on October 28, 1936, in Prosperity, to the late Sam Pat and Frances Summer Taylor. Mrs. Richardson was a graduate of Newberry College and was a retired educator having retired from Mid-Carolina High School. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

She is survived by sons, Dean Linwood Richardson and James Pat “Jimmy” Richardson both of Prosperity; a sister, Harriett Connelly of Prosperity; a granddaughter, Taylor Richardson Gipson and her husband, Berlin “D.J.” Gipson of Rock Hill. Mrs. Richardson was predeceased by a grandson, Hunter James Richardson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, July 24, 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church by the Rev. Gary Brandenberg. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2496 SC Highway 773, Pomaria, SC 29126.

Active pallbearers will be Danny Richardson, Danny Ricard, Michael Connelly, Paul Werts, Barry Werts and Jay Koon.

Honorary pallbearers will be Loraine Boyd, Vernon Hawkins, Mildred Goggans and Jerry Koon.
