Mary Ruth Boland Long, 94, of Prosperity, widow of James Leland Long, died Saturday, October 5, 2019 at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.
Born on October 11, 1924 in Chapin, she was a daughter of the late Dewitt Charles and Mary Eula Frick Boland. She was retired from General Electric and was a devoted church member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church. Mrs. Long was a member of WELCA, the Young at Heart and a former Sunday School teacher.
She is survived by sons, Kenny (Johnsie) Long, Don (Debbie) Long and Roger (Barbara) Long all of Prosperity; a brother, John Boland of Little Mountain; ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Rosemary Metts, a granddaughter, Pamela Bass and her siblings, Everett Boland, Virgil Boland, Rosalyn Boland Fulmer and Edith Boland Bedenbaugh
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, October 7, 2019 at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, 816 Mt. Tabor Road, Little Mountain, SC 29075.
Active pallbearers will be Ken Long, Lee Long, Daniel Long, Eddie Long, Josh Sanders and Michael Hipp.
