Mattie G. Ringer

Mattie Gilliam Ringer, 98, of Pomaria, widow of Gary Lee Ringer, died Saturday, December 16, 2017, at White Oak Manor.

Born on September 28, 1919, in Pomaria, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas and Lula Berley Gilliam. She was the oldest member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church where she was a member of the 55+ Group and the Ladies Circle.

Mrs. Ringer is survived by a daughter, Janice Ringer Long of Little Mountain; grandchildren, Gwen (Chris) Davenport and Jana (Michael) Livingston; great-grandchildren, Brady Davenport, Tori Livingston and Colby Livingston and a number of special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bob Huggins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the Reese Building. Memorials may be made to the Reese Building Renovation Fund, 2360 Mt. Pleasant Road, Pomaria, SC 29126.

Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Bickley, Jim Ringer, Brian Sheeley, Michael Livingston, Chris Davenport, Jr. and Ernie Ringer.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of White Oak Manor for their loving care for Mrs. Ringer.
