Maude S. Sheeley, 91, of Chapin, widow of Johnny Ray Sheeley, died Monday, September 11, 2017, at Palmetto Health Richland.

Born on September 30, 1925, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late George and Margaret Spotts. She was retired from General Electric of Irmo. Mrs. Sheeley was a member of Pomaria Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for many years, was involved with WELCA, sang in the choir for over 30 years and served on numerous committees.

She is survived by a son, Stanley (Sandra) Sheeley of Prosperity; a daughter, Dottie Sheeley of Chapin; a sister, Patricia Coker of West Columbia; brothers, Johnny Spotts and Bobby Spotts both of Columbia; grandchildren, Brian Sheeley, Gina Lester, Olivia Beck, Stephanie Franklin and Johnette Kinard and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Sheeley was predeceased by sons, Robert Sheeley and Ray Sheeley.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Friday, September 15, 2017, at Pomaria Lutheran Church by the Rev. Dr. David Seymour. Burial will follow in Pomaria Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Pomaria Lutheran Church, PO Box 246, Pomaria, SC 29126.

Active pallbearers will be Danny Wiggers, Ernie Wiggers, Kevin Kinard, Eddie Sheeley, Donnie Sheeley and Brock Franklin.
