Michael Terry Cunningham, 73, of Little Mountain, died Sunday, August 16, 2026, at his home.

Born on January 23, 1953, in Wilmington, NC, he was a son of the late George Hasting and Christine Elizabeth Mobley Cunnigham. He was an Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War as a 101st Airman as a helicopter crew chief and door gunner. He was a former president of the Veterans Association and a founder of the L.Z. Blackwell Memorial. Michael worked in commercial construction.

He is survived by his wife, Julianne Latimer; daughters, Anna Cunningham of Little Mountain and Emily Watson of Asheville, NC; a brother, George Cunningham of Conway and grandsons, Jordan Cunningham, Joanah Michael Cunningham, Venalda Harrison, Jr. and Ravi Zen Purewal.

The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
