Mickey Werts

Mickey Lee Werts, 69, of Newberry, died Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Roper Hospital in Mt. Pleasant.

Born on May 9, 1944 in Newberry, he was a son of the late Leland Clyde and Ollie Taylor Werts. He was a graduate of Newberry College and a member of Mayer Memorial Lutheran Church.

Mr. Werts is survived by an aunt, Ruth Chapman of Newberry and an uncle, Wallace Werts of Elloree and several cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Taylor Coleman Werts.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, September 13, 2013, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dr. Mary Havens and Rev. Dr. Linda Dunn. Memorials may be made to McSwain-Evans Funeral Home, 1724 Main Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
